“Disimpaction is a procedure to help relieve pain and pressure caused by a tooth that is stuck in the jawbone or gum tissue. This can happen when a tooth comes in at an awkward angle or doesn’t have enough room to erupt properly.
During the procedure, we will:
– Numb the area with local anesthesia so you won’t feel any pain
– Make a small incision in the gum to access the impacted tooth
– Gently remove any bone or gum tissue that’s blocking the tooth
– Help the tooth come in properly or remove it if necessary
The goal of disimpaction is to:
– Relieve pain and discomfort
– Prevent infection or abscesses
– Allow the tooth to come in properly or remove it if necessary
– Improve the overall health of your mouth and teeth
The procedure is usually quick, taking about 30-60 minutes, and is done in our clinic . You might experience some swelling and discomfort after the procedure, but this can be managed with pain medication and ice packs.
